We’re delighted to celebrate the publication of Sohaila: Lebanese Recipes Made with Fat Macy’s, a beautiful new cookbook created with love, food and community at its heart.

Published by Bridge Logos, Sohaila brings together the recipes and stories of the Fat Macy’s community, sharing the flavours of Lebanon while highlighting the people and experiences behind the food.

At the centre of the book is Sohaila, whose recipes provide a delicious introduction to the warmth, generosity and incredible culinary heritage of Lebanese cooking. From comforting family favourites to dishes designed for sharing, the book is as much about bringing people together as it is about what goes on the plate.

More than a cookbook

What makes Sohaila particularly special is the purpose behind it.

The book was created in partnership with Fat Macy’s, an organisation that supports people experiencing homelessness and helps residents build pathways towards independent living through food, hospitality and community.

Every recipe carries a sense of connection — to family, heritage, memory and the shared experience of cooking and eating together.

It’s a reminder that a cookbook can be more than a collection of recipes. It can tell stories, preserve traditions and create opportunities for positive change.

A book with an incredible team behind it

Sohaila has been brought to life by Nathalie Moukarzel and Meg Doherty, alongside the wider Fat Macy’s community.

The book has also received wonderful support from some of the UK’s leading food voices, including Diana Henry, Mark Hix MBE and Marina O’Loughlin, whose endorsements reflect the warmth and appeal of the project.

We’re incredibly proud to have played a part in bringing this book to readers.

Lebanese food made for sharing

Lebanese food is famous for its abundance, generosity and sense of occasion — food that is meant to be placed in the middle of the table and enjoyed together.

That spirit runs throughout Sohaila.

Whether you’re already familiar with Lebanese cooking or are discovering it for the first time, this is a cookbook to return to again and again: to cook from, share with friends and family, and enjoy slowly around the table.

Now available

Sohaila: Lebanese Recipes Made with Fat Macy’s is now available to order from Waterstones and other leading booksellers.

We’d love for you to discover the book, cook from its pages and, most importantly, learn more about the wonderful community behind it.

Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing Sohaila to life.
